2018 Nissan X-Trail Engine Specs 4WD

It’s time to restyling mid-career also for the 2018 Nissan X-Trail, which follows the family feeling introduced first with the Micra and then, more recently, with the Qashqai (here our driving impressions).

Features. At the aesthetic level, the front extends the “V motion” grille and changes the design of the bumper and that of the optical groups, now equipped with new daytime running lights to Boomerang and, on models with LED lights, of adaptive headlights. 4.7 meters long, 1.8 wide, 1.7 high and with a 2.7-metre wheelbase, the 2018 Nissan X-Trail will be available with 17, 18 and 19-inch alloy wheels and in the new Orange Pearl, Red Pearl, Blue Pearl metallic and dark brown pearl colors.

Cockpit and trunk. As soon as you get aboard the new steering wheel stands out with the flattened crown in the lower part and a more rational and tidy arrangement of the controls. The handle is wider and the heating function is available as well as for the front and rear seats. The tailgate, which already on the outgoing model was electric on some fittings, now also features the “hands-free” device, with automatic opening activated by the foot under the central part of the bumper. For the five-seater version has grown the capacity of the boot, now climb to 565 liters and is present the comfortable flexible luggage board system, which allows arranging shelves and dividers according to various configurations to optimize the space.

On-board technologies. While waiting for the X-Trail to debut the new support systems for the ProPilot package (Lane keep assist, intelligent cruise control and traffic jam pilot), with the restyling was added the rear cross traffic alert, rear sensing system of obstacles in motion, very useful during the manoeuvres in reverse phase of exit from a parking lot, and now the intelligent emergency braking system has been updated with the recognition of pedestrians. And next to intelligent around view Monitor, the involuntary lane change Warning system, for the detection of road signs and driver fatigue and parking assistance, the stand still Assist (SSA) was introduced, which integrates the assistance to the uphill departures (HSA) also on the versions with manual gearbox.

2018 Nissan X-Trail Engine Specifications, 4 Wheel Drive

The range includes a 163 HP gasoline and two diesel fuel units of 1.6 a and 2.0 liters, respectively, from 130 and 177 hp. And this latest version is the protagonist of our test drive, divided into two parts. In the first, we faced on asphalt a city path, a short motorway transfer and a hilly stretch full of curves. In this phase the 2018 Nissan X-Trail showed a smooth and balanced behavior, despite the mole: The roll is contained and the turbo-diesel pushes well from the low revs, well combined with the six-speed manual from the poorly contrasted grafts. Nothing to say about the comfort of the board, also thanks to the good work of soundproofing and the ability to absorb to the best all the imperfections of the road surface. A quality, the latter, largely due to its fuoristradistiche qualities, put to the whip in the second part of the test: a dirt railing through the woods near Schneeberg, where we also experienced the SSA system which, once activated, both uphill and downhill keeps the car steady until three minutes, after which the parking brake is activated automatically. The road seal also on this type of bottom and in the narrower hairpins is very good, also thanks to the integral traction, as well as the trim, which allows it to move without too much difficulty even on the most irregular funds.
